AUB credit cards might have caught your interest because of their waived annual fees. While that's a big deal when choosing a credit card, there's more to AUB cards than their no annual fee for life feature.

For instance, did you know that AUB credit cards are among those with the fastest rewards earn rate in the Philippines? Every PHP 20 spent using an AUB Mastercard earns you 1 rewards point. Other credit cards require a higher minimum spend to earn rewards.

AUB also offers flexibility for paying credit card bills. Choose your own payment due date, frequency, and fixed minimum balance. If you select the right payment terms, this feature can help you manage your finances well and avoid making late payments.

With all such features, having a credit card from AUB is absolutely worth it. Interested in getting one already? No worries because here's an easy step-by-step AUB credit card application guide to help you.

AUB Credit Card Application Steps

If you want to know how to apply for a credit card in AUB, here are the simple steps you need to follow.

1. Pick the Right AUB Credit Card for You

AUB credit card application - Pick the Right AUB Credit Card

AUB credit cards come in four types: Easy, Classic, Gold, and Platinum. Each card caters to a specific income bracket, budget, and lifestyle.

Before you apply for an AUB credit card, it's important to figure out which one is the best match for you. This way, you'll avoid problems like getting your application rejected or not making the most of the card's features and benefits.

Narrow down your options. First, determine which credit card you qualify for based on AUB's eligibility requirements, especially your gross income and source of income.

Regular AUB Credit Card Eligibility Criteria

If you meet all the requirements below, then you can apply for a regular credit card with AUB:

  • Age: 21 to 65 years old
  • Minimum gross monthly income:
    • Easy/Classic Mastercard - PHP 21,000
    • Gold Mastercard - PHP 50,000
    • Platinum Mastercard - PHP 100,000
  • Source of income:
    • Employed - At least one-year regular employment status with a registered company
    • Self-employed - Registered businesses with at least one-year profitable operation
    • Licensed professional - At least one-year professional practice
  • Means of contact: Must have a mobile phone, an office landline, and an active email address

Secured AUB Credit Card Eligibility Criteria

AUB also offers secured credit cards in the Philippines. A secured card is a good alternative for those with low and/or irregular income, no proof of stable income (i.e., freelancers and micro/small entrepreneurs), or poor credit score/no credit history.

To be eligible for an AUB secured credit card, you just have to meet these simple requirements:

  • Age: At least 21 years old
  • Minimum hold-out deposit:
    • Easy - PHP 25,000
    • Classic - PHP 50,000
    • Gold - PHP 125,000
    • Platinum - PHP 250,000

A hold-out deposit is the required amount that you'll put in your AUB savings account to get a secured credit card. The bank will hold the amount as collateral and use it to determine your credit limit, which is 80% of the hold-out deposit.

2. Compare the Different AUB Credit Cards

Whether you opt for a regular or a secured credit card from AUB, it's crucial to compare your options. By knowing the similarities and differences between AUB credit cards, you can choose the card with not only the features you need but also one that helps manage your credit card payments best.
