What’s the guarantee that clients won’t lose their hard-earned money when using BDO Online Banking? BDO has technologies and processes in place for its online banking platform.
BDO Online Banking account is equipped with security measures to verify a user’s identity. In addition to entering a username and a password, users also have to key in a one-time password (OTP)—which BDO sends via SMS to the registered mobile phone number—each time they log in. Entering the correct OTP is also required for certain transactions, like fund transfer and prepaid reloading.
An alternative way to get an OTP for login is the OTP Generator feature on the BDO Mobile app. This comes in handy when you don’t receive the OTP via text message within 5 minutes.
For resetting your BDO Online Banking password, OTP is also required.
Here are the steps to follow:
Open the BDO mobile banking app and click “NEED HELP?”. Choose whether you have forgotten your user ID or password. You will be redirected to the BDO website to reset your user ID/password.
However, this option is only for accounts that are not yet locked. If your BDO online banking account is locked, you have to contact a BDO customer service representative to request a password reset.
If you forget to log out after your online banking session, the automatic log-out feature secures your BDO account. You’ll be logged out of the system once it detects inactivity for a certain number of minutes. This way, nobody can access your online banking account except for yourself.
When you lose your BDO debit or credit card, you can immediately prevent unauthorized transactions through the Lock/Unlock Card feature on BDO Online Banking. In just a few clicks, you can lock your BDO card so that nobody can use the lost or stolen card for ATM and in-store transactions, as well as for online purchases and payments.
While your physical card is locked, you can still use BDO Online Banking and Mobile Banking channels to transfer funds, pay bills, and perform other transactions. You can unlock the card to make it active again once your card has been replaced.
For each of your BDO debit and credit cards, you can adjust the ATM withdrawal limit, PIN-based purchase limit (for in-store purchases), and No PIN purchase limit (for online purchases). You may also enable or disable overseas card-based transactions.
These BDO online security features help you ensure that you won’t lose a lot of money in case someone steals your card or hacks into your card details.
There are some online banking features that BDO doesn’t promote much but are worth noting because they help make your transactions more efficient.
The Quick Links box consists of different icons representing your most commonly used BDO online services. You may choose the icons you need, so you can quickly access them with just a few clicks.
This feature is useful if you regularly send money to a specific person or business. You can save your first send money transaction as a template, which you can use for your next fund transfers to the same recipient. It saves you time because if you use a template for sending money, you won’t need to input all the required details for every transaction.
BDO Online Banking account lets you transact faster and more conveniently than in-branch transactions. You can improve your online banking experience by exploring and familiarizing yourself with its features before and while making a transaction.
