Why Choose Citi Simplicity+ Card?

With so many credit cards offering a plethora of features, sometimes you just need one that can keep things simple and easy. But should you go for the Citi Simplicity+ Card? Find out in this short review.

Benefits

No annual fees for life

Annual fees can put a dent in your wallet, especially if you’re on a tight budget. But with the Citi Simplicity+ Card, there are no annual fees to worry about. This freedom from pesky annual fees doesn’t have an expiration date unlike most credit cards out there.

No late payment and overlimit fees

During these financially challenging times, you may find it harder to make your credit card payments on time. Citi Simplicity+ charges no late payment and overlimit fees, two sets of charges most credit cardholders will surely encounter in these trying times.

10% back on interest charges

The Citi Simplicity+ Card rewards responsible credit cardholders who pay their monthly credit card bills early or on time. How? By giving 10% back on interest charges when you pay your minimum amount due on or before your due date, which means additional savings for you.

Exclusive offers all year-round

For a credit card that prides itself on its simplicity, the Citi Simplicity+ Card definitely does not skimp on features, rewards, and convenience. Enjoy the features Citi credit cards are known for and enjoy year-long promotions in travel, beauty and wellness, shopping, and dining.

Drawbacks

No reward points

Most credit cards focus on one feature or two at a time like the Citi Simplicity+ Card which aims to minimize fees. This leaves out other card benefits like reward points but the savings you’ll get from having minimal fees is the reward itself.

If you love collecting reward points, try the Citi PremierMiles Card and earn 1 non-expiring PremierMile for every ₱30 spend. And since it's a travel card, air miles are easy to redeem, with 1 air mile only equivalent to 1.6 PremierMiles.

Benefits are limited to fees

The Citi Simplicity+ Card has great money-saving benefits but it’s limited to credit card fees. Since we encounter card fees on a regular basis, you’ll make use of these benefits as opposed to having many features that aren’t as useful or beneficial.

Want to try other benefits? Give the Citi Cash Back Card a go and enjoy multiple cash back perks: 6% on groceries, 2% on Meralco bills payments on Citi Online, and 0.2% on all other purchases.

Is Citi Simplicity+ Card the Right Card for You?

If you want a no-fuss credit card that also lets you enjoy great benefits and rewards, the Citi Simplicity+ Card is a great option. The card keeps things simple and easy for busy, on-the-go people. But if you’re looking for more, here are some alternatives:

  • Citi Rewards Card. Want a Citi credit card with a bit more oomph? Then check out this card. Earn 3x non-expiring reward points for every shopping and dining expense.
  • UnionBank PlayEveryday. This card is also a good choice for first-time credit cardholders. By earning 1 reward point for every ₱10 spend, you’ll earn rewards easily in no time.
  • AUB Easy Mastercard. Another great choice for first-timers. Aside from not having to pay annual fees for life, this card lets you choose when and how often you should pay your credit card dues.
