What is SMART Money?

In 2001, SMART Communications Inc. launched the SMART Money in partnership with the Banco de Oro (BDO). The SMART Money is an electronic wallet which can replace the role of a regular bank account as users can perform bank account transactions such as bill payments, money transfers, and airtime reloads by using the SMART Money technology via a SMART mobile phone.

With the SMART Money MasterCards, the needs to have a bank account, ATM cards or debit cards will never cross our mind. Yes, we can use the SMART Money technology via either the SMART Mobile Phone or the SMART Money MasterCard.

The SMART Mobile Phone

The SMART Money Menu is available in all SMART mobile phones. Here are three steps to perform the money transactions:
1. Pull out your phone from your pocket (or any places)
2. Open the SMART Money Menu
3. Select your preferred money transaction services
It’s convenient and hassle-free. You can conduct bank transactions with your mobile phones all the time.

The SMART Money MasterCard

The SMART Money MasterCard is a multi-purpose debit card. The functionalities of the SMART Money MasterCards are the following:

  • Money transfer
  • Airtime purchases
  • International remittance
  • ATM withdrawals
  • Salary disbursements
  • Donations
  • Online Purchases with mobile lock/unlock security features
  • Loan Payments/Disbursements
  • Reloading Facilities
  • Debit Card Transactions
