On July 26, 2024, the Opening Ceremony will take place in the heart of Paris. It will be the first-ever opening ceremony held outside the stadium in the history of the Summer Olympics.
The parade of the athletes will happen on the Seine, perhaps France’s most famous river. It will then end in front of the Trocadero, with the Eiffel Tower as the backdrop.
Meanwhile, on August 11, 2024, the Closing Ceremony will kick off a few hours after the women’s marathon, the last event of the Olympics. This will be held at the Stade de France, France’s largest stadium. The line-up includes the closing parade of the athletes, a few speeches, and the extinguishing of the Olympic Flame.[2]
The Paris Olympics will feature 329 events, 32 sports, and 10,500 athletes.
Some of the most awaited sports include basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, and swimming. Additional sports merging creativity and athletic performance will join this year’s roster of events.
